MANUFACTURING ENGINEER / SOLIDWORKS DRAFTER

The Manufacturing/Application Engineer is responsible for many aspects throughout the lifecycle of each Canvas Craft product. The role includes working closely with team members and customers to design, research, and source the best solutions, and it also includes working closely with the delivery team to implement systems, procedures, and equipment that align with the manufacturing tools and the capability of the Canvas Craft team.

Responsibilities & Qualifications:

- Work closely with sales to provide professional design concepts for proposals
- Create manufacturing packets and production drawings. (shop drawings) 
- Drawing submittal packages for construction companies’ approval
- Produce final manufacturing drawings along with specifications and part lists
- Identify and select materials needed for production
- Cost reduction analysis, and implementation of cost-effective solutions
- Use SolidWorks to design concepts and manufacturing drawings
- Support the sales team with estimating, technical advisor, and customer interactions
- Gathering of onsite measurements and other critical information
- Coordination of outside services and procurement of raw materials as needed
- Manufacturing process documentation
- Participate in automation techniques, testing new systems for efficiency, and planning factory layouts to optimize production
- Maintain accurate and up to date SolidWorks customer files

Successful candidates will have the following:

- A strong knowledge of SolidWorks (certification preferred)
- Thorough manufacturing background (structural preferred)
- The ability to draft mechanical and structural designs per verbal and written instructions
- Two years of mechanical/structural design experience (preferred)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge in automated (CNC) cutting equipment (preferred)
- Ability to read structural and architectural blueprints
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to details
